Strategies and Legal Considerations for Workplace COVID-19 Testing
Thursday, July 9; 10:00AM-11:00AM
Online via Zoom
In March, none of us could have predicted that we would soon have to learn about workplace testing for a virus that has caused a global pandemic. Now, as businesses reopen many employers are faced with uncertainty of state and federal OSHA and CDC guidelines to monitor and document employee’s health status as a key part of their safety protocol and prevent the spread of the virus. How do employers verify employees’ health status? What type of documentation is required? Are thermometers and other testing protocols even available? What other protocols are required, like wearing masks and conducting health screening, temperature screening and latest anti-body testing options? What if employees refuse to come back claiming the workplace is unsafe?
This is the new reality and so we invite you Join ASM on Thursday, July 9th at 10AM for an online seminar to learn everything you need to know about workplace COVID-19 testing. We will start with an overview of some practical considerations for employers when conducting COVID-19 testing- including how, when, and what testing should be conducted. The presentation also will include a discussion of legal requirements with an overview of privacy obligations on employers. As usual, we will include plenty of time for Q&A.
