ASM Year In Review
2009 was a challenging year for the construction industry and ASM members, facing the worst recession in over 75 years.
Through it all, however, participation in ASM remained as strong as ever, as we strove to provide the programs, savings and services members need most at times like this. Finding opportunity even in the worst of times, ASM was able to build our first-ever dedicated office, with generous contributions of labor, materials and funding from ASM members.

 New Chair for ASM Membership Committee
ASM Member Wendy Ganson of Imagine Marketing is the new Chair of the ASM Membership Committee, succeeding Michael Kosiver of Lockheed Window, who served as Chair for a record 5 years and helped ASM grow to over 400 members! Wendy has great plans to keep the momentum going, and is assembling a team of volunteers to make it happen. If you’d like to be part of the action, and meet a great group of fellow ASM members, contact Tom Marchesiani at ASM.
2010 ASM Scholarships Applications Now Available
Once again in 2010, ASM will award three $2,000 scholarships to sons and daughters of ASM members or employees. The scholarships are funded by proceeds from ASM’s annual golf tournament, and will be presented to the winners in the spring. Applications are available here, and the deadline is March 1, 2010. Be sure to spread the word to anyone in your company who may be interested!
AG’s Office issues new Bid Protest Guide
The Attorney General’s Office has just released new “General Guidelines Regarding Attorney General Bid Protest Cases,” covering how to file a protest, what happens next, what to expect at the hearing, how the Bid Unit reaches decisions, and how to appeal. The Guide also offers advice on how to resolve problems before they become protests. Download a copy here.
